Some of our activities include the following:

  • Organize the largest advocacy effort in our state- the annual Key Campaign in Juneau, Alaska.
  • Host intimate coffee sessions in the homes of parents to inform Legislators, first hand, of critical issues effecting disabilities.
  • Meet with members of the Administration to discuss budgets, funding, and vital legislation.
  • Testify at Legislative Hearings.
  • Educate on disability issues.
  • Implement a state telephone tree for immediate response from the membership on legislation and funding.
  • Construct an annual Platform of Legislative Priorities presented to our Senators and Representatives.
  • Network with strategic Boards and Commissions across Alaska in a unified effort to create positive, lasting change.

 

 


  • Publish a quarterly newsletter of issues, events and topics pertinent to our cause.
  • Craft policy and procedure with major stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in summits and forums on disabilities.
  • Host Candidates nights during key election cycles.
  • Promote legislation that includes and represents people with disabilities.
  • Develop increased awareness of disability issues.
  • Rally, march, and demonstrate, never compromising on human and civil rights.
