Some of our activities include the following:
- Organize the largest advocacy effort in our state- the annual Key Campaign in Juneau, Alaska.
- Host intimate coffee sessions in the homes of parents to inform Legislators, first hand, of critical issues effecting disabilities.
- Meet with members of the Administration to discuss budgets, funding, and vital legislation.
- Testify at Legislative Hearings.
- Educate on disability issues.
- Implement a state telephone tree for immediate response from the membership on legislation and funding.
- Construct an annual Platform of Legislative Priorities presented to our Senators and Representatives.
- Network with strategic Boards and Commissions across Alaska in a unified effort to create positive, lasting change.
- Publish a quarterly newsletter of issues, events and topics pertinent to our cause.
- Craft policy and procedure with major stakeholders.
- Actively participate in summits and forums on disabilities.
- Host Candidates nights during key election cycles.
- Promote legislation that includes and represents people with disabilities.
- Develop increased awareness of disability issues.
- Rally, march, and demonstrate, never compromising on human and civil rights.
